The Company

The ministries of LifeWay Christian Resources have been centered in Nashville, Tennessee, since its founding in 1891. Today LifeWay’s ministries reach across the United States and around the world through millions of Christian products used in more than 160 countries. The company also owns and operates Ridgecrest Conference Center in North Carolina. LifeWay is a nonprofit organization that reinvests income above operating expenses in mission work and other ministries around the world. In addition, LifeWay is also one of the largest Spanish Bible publishers in the world.

The Situation

LifeWay was introduced to Simflofy by a long-term partner who demonstrated the Simflofy solution. They were impressed with its flexibility and connectivity capability.

LifeWay was already using Alfresco as their enterprise content management system. While it provides a lot of integration between storage and delivery repositories, their timelines and ability to automate between it andother emerging workgroup repositories (like DropBox) wasn’t as easy as they wanted it to be.

The Solution

Simflofy’s out-of-the-box connectors and ability to accurately manage large quantities of data across those repositories were a key decision point for LifeWay. They were able to sync and connect LifeWay’s S3 buckets, Isilon network drives, corporate Dropbox account, and marketing assets in Workfront with their Alfresco instance.

The ease of implementation and the lower investment cost was the added value that made Simflofy’s solution stand out. LifeWay was an “early” purchaser in the publishing vertical.

The feature that LifeWay found most appealing was the amount of integration and automation for the cost.Basically, they gained the ability to automate faster and easier for less expense than a full-time employee to develop a in house solution.

The Result

The value gained is that LifeWay was able to reduce their manual touches on assets by almost 25%, and they’re just at the start of implementing their integration plans. In addition, they’ve extended processes to publishing team members outside the operations department so that they can control the release of assets and product samples to their online sales channels within minutes, a reduction of several hours in response time.

LifeWay is most impressed with the overall reliabilityof the software and ease of integration with their content repositories and workflow processes. According to Tom Gilvert, Director of Digital Products & Application Infrastructure, “I plan to use Simflofy as the foundational software to move assets between and to help keep all our content repositories in-sync, including with our Title ManagementSystem.
